Build the First-Class Brand in United Nations (UN) Network System
-- ¡°10,000 Document Inputs and Beyond¡± Celebration Seminar
held in UNPAN Asia-Pacific Regional Centre
 
The first one who achieved 10,000 documents among the 35 sites of the United Nations Public Administration Network (UNPAN); the one who has been maintaining three ¡°Most¡±s in the past five years: ¡°the largest amount of information release¡±, ¡°the most popular website among the readers¡±, and ¡°the least error rate of information release¡±. All these impressive records were announced by the Information Institute of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences (SASS) in ¡°UNPAN-AP 10,000 Document Inputs and Beyond Celebration Seminar¡± on March 18, 2008.
 
With the theme of ¡°Celebrate 10,000 documents input on UNPAN-AP website; Create demand-driven website; and Win glory for Shanghai, China¡±, this seminar was co-sponsored by Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences and The Regional Cooperation Office for City Informatization (RCOCI), and organized by UNPAN-AP editorial department.
 
The seminar was chaired by Mr. Wang Jianhua, the chief editor of the UNPAN-AP editorial department. About 50 participants attended the event, including directors and related staff from RCOCI, SASS and "China Shanghai" government portal website. Mr. Wang Genxiang, one of the founders of RCOCI, Mr. Xiong Yuezhi and Mr. Huang Weiren, Vice Presidents of SASS, and Mr. Wang Yizhi, Director of the Information Institute of SASS delivered their speeches to congratulate on the achievement built during the first stage of UNPAN-AP development (2001-2007).
 
The Director of UNPAN Ms. Qian Haiyan also sent a congratulatory letter. In the letter, on behalf of the New York headquarters and the regional centers, Ms. Qian expressed the warmest congratulations and sincere gratitude to RCOCI, and stated that ¡°10,000 Document Inputs and Beyond¡± was an outstanding milestone, and everyone involved in this initiative had displayed an extraordinary degree of ¡°devotion, innovation, professionalism, and industriousness¡±. The seminar also received numbers of letters of congratulations or greetings from the Knowledge Management and Development Division of United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the United States, the Philippines, Venezuela, South Africa, Morocco, the United Arab Emirates, as well as former editors of UNPAN-AP Editorial Department.
 
In addition, editors with outstanding performance during the first stage of UNPAN-AP development (2001-2007) were awarded with the ¡°Editorial Quantity Award¡± and ¡°Editorial Quality Award¡± by the seminar.
