After a half year of feasibility survey and sector analysis, as well as feedbacks from readers, the Asia and Pacific Center for United Nations Online Network in Public Administration and Finance (UNPAN-AP) e-journal ¡°Asia and Pacific City Informatization Bulletin¡± will bring out a completely new version, which will deliver the first issue in March 2008. (Website: http://www.unpan.org/serials.asp#asia) As one of the self-developed products of UNPAN-AP, the ¡°Asia and Pacific City Informatization Bulletin¡± brings attention to the innovation initiatives and successful experiences during the informatization development of countries in the Asia-Pacific region. The Bulletin has been highly approved by the UNPAN headquarters and has become a favorite journal for many global readers, ranking high for several times in the Click-Through Rating in ¡°UNPAN Progress Report¡±. The Bulletin is also listed as a key journal by Shanghai Research Center of World Bank Development Gateway Foundation. This new version has adjusted the layout and sector design to put more attention to the key and hot issues in informatization development process in countries in the world, thus enhancing the practicality and professionalism of the Bulletin. The new ¡°Asia and Pacific City Informatization Bulletin¡± will cover not only the issues in the Asia-Pacific region, but also the developed countries in Europe, America and other regions. There will be seven major sectors: Special Focus, Policy & Legislation, e-Government, e-Commerce; e-Society; e-Security, Conference & Training. After the planning of the new version ¡°Asia and Pacific City Informatization Bulletin¡±, Ms. Qian Haiyan, Director of UNPAN and Deputy Director of Division for Public Administration and Development Management/Department of Economic and Social Affairs/UN, has wrote to the chief editor Prof. Wang Jianhua to express her satisfaction with this new version and the congratulations on the outstanding achievements of the editorial department in the past years.
